Barry Chandler, singer - guitarist. Barry got his first break in the music business entertaining at dude ranches such as the Mahan, Silver Spur, Circle R and other dude ranches in the Texas Hill Country. Folks from Luckenbock to Anchorage, El Paso to Honolulu, Bandera to Boulder have heard this six string man, play and sing. Bring your thirst and your party attitude. It's time.

Antique Week begins Thursday, September 25 - Sunday, October 5:
Bistro 108 will be open for Lunch Thursday - Sunday, Closed Monday, Open Tuesday - Sunday
Open for Dinner Thursday - Saturday, Closed Sunday nite, Open Monday - Saturday. During Antique Week we do not take reservations (in the traditional sense), but we do take your name, number in party, and approximate time of arrival. That way you will already be on the list when you arrive making any wait time a lot less. We hold the time slot for 15 minutes, if you are going to be earlier or later than 15 minutes of the time you gave us, please call ahead and let us know. Things get a little crazy during this time.

Bistro 108 - Just a Reminder
Bistro 108 Closed Saturday July 26:
The Bistro will be closed Saturday July 26. Susan and I will be in Austin at my son's wedding. Michael Wayne McCathern and Ambriel Nance will be wed in a small family ceremony in Austin. Congratulations Michael and Ambriel.
At Bistro 108:

We are still working on getting a band for August and planning for September. Details to follow.

July 27 - Sunday - WAYLON PAYNE, Waylon Payne is making a big splash as the star in the movie "CRAZY" where he potrays the legendary musician Hank Garland. "CRAZY" has already won numerous film festival awards. Read more about the movie here. You may also remember Waylon as the actor that portrayed Jerry Lee Lewis in "WALK THE LINE"
Waylon is named after his godfather Waylon Jennings. His father is Jody Payne, longtime guitarist for Willie Nelson, and his mother is country singer Sammi Smith known for her recording of "Help Me Make it Through the Night"

Bistro 108 Happenings
Last Thursday's music on the patio was a great hit. The patio was packed for the music, the band was upbeat and entertaining and everyone had a great time. We are working on finding another equally entertaining group for August. Stay tuned for further information.
This Weeks Fresh Catch:
This weeks fresh catch is Japanese Sea Bass - Mero and wild caught Hawaiian Yellow Tail. I had the Yellow Tail last night for dinner and it is a firm fleshed fish with a delicate flavor. It is served with risotto and a citrus butter sauce. Excellent.

It is not too early to start planning your holiday parties, now. Bistro 108 caters and would like to cater your event. We have catered groups of 6 up to 600. We can cater on premise on Tuesday and Wednesday nites and we can cater off premise at your location anytime. Music on the Patio - Tonight!
Just a quick reminder that Bistro 108 will be having music on the patio tonight from 7 to 10. There are no reservations on the Patio but you can make early reservations inside then go out and hear the music. We will be serving food and drink on the patio until 9 pm. It just may be a little crowded, but lots of fun. This is our first concert on the patio since we opened back in 2004.

Bistro 108's Fresh Vegetables
A quick note that tonight we will be serving fresh gazpacho made with local organic tomatoes and cucumbers. Also we will be serving, as an appetizer, Fresh Salad Caprese made with local organic yellow and orange and red tomatoes. So summery and refreshing.
