Make Plans to Visit La Grange Memorial Day Weekend

Brad Pitt and Sean Penn's Tree of Life movie will be filming in La Grange (on the Court House Square) on Saturday May 24. They will have the entire down town blocked off for filming but Bistro 108 will be OPEN. The film company will direct our cutomers to special parking areas, so plan to come and see the movie being made. You will be directed to come in the side door, since they do not want anyone on the streets in front of the Bistro just in case they are shooting in our direction. They plan to film between 1 pm and 8 pm. Who knows maybe you will get a glimps of the stars.

This week's Fresh Fish from Hawaii is Japanese Sea Bass and Mahi Mahi. The Sea Bass has become an absolute favorite of our customers who have tried it. It has a much richer flavor and a juicer texture than the Chilian Sea Bass.

Some of the happenings this weekend in Fayette County are:

5/23 The Bugle Boy - Dirk Hamilton

A poet and musician known for his uniquely intelligent lyrics and passionate performance style, Hamilton creates music that can't be pigeon-holed into one genre or another, so indie rock, alt-rock, roots music, americana and folk-rock are often used. For his lyrics and performance style he is most often compared to Dylan, Van Morrison, and John Hiatt.

"The original anti-folkie...always one of the few legitimate poets on the scene." - NEW YORK PRESSUntamed and thoroughly unpredictable energy that makes both his live shows and his records gleam with special light."---BAM MAGAZINE

"Brilliant songwriting and goosebump-inducing singing. Hamilton's writing can't really be compared to anyone else; maybe a shot of Hiatt, a double shot of Van Morrison, and a kiss from the angels will suffice as a description."---Jackson Griffith, TOWER PULSE

5/24 The Bugle Boy -- Vicki Emerson
“Sweet tunes like “Daisy” and “The Hey Hey Song” evoke early Lucinda Williams and Dixie Chicks…the disc is strong enough to have earned Emerson more local notoriety.” Chris Riemenschneider, Minneapolis Star Tribune

5/25 Freyburg Hall -- The Austin Lounge Lizards with the Ginn Sisters opening for the Lounge Lizards. Door and Bar open at 4 pm, Food at 5 pm and Show starts at 6 pm. This is a show not to be missed. Go to www.myspace.com/freyburghall or call Bill at 512-203-4619 for more information or advanced tickets.
